His Excellency Peter Obi Visits Plateau State, Commiserates with Governor and Victims of Recent Killings.

His Excellency Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, responded to his earlier call for spreading love on his 62nd birthday by visiting Plateau State to commiserate with His Excellency Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the people over the recent widespread and unfortunate killings in the State.

His Excellency Peter Obi's visit was marked by a heartfelt expression of sympathy for the victims and their families affected by the spate of violence, which he described as unacceptable. Among the areas he visited was Mangu Local Government Area, where over 300 people, including women and children, lost their lives.

At the Bungha Pilot School in Mangu, which currently serves as the largest Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in the State, His Excellency Peter Obi pledged support by providing N5 million in monetary assistance along with bags of rice. He emphasized that the people in the IDP Camps are not alone in their struggle, stating, "As long as we have some Nigerians living in IDP Camps, every Nigerian is living in IDP Camp."

During his visit, His Excellency Peter Obi praised Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his warm reception and acknowledged the efforts he has made thus far in addressing the killings and terror attacks in the State. He further encouraged the Governor to continue delivering good governance to the people, expressing his solidarity in tackling the security challenges.

The traditional ruler, Mishkaham Mwaghavul, HRH John Putmang Hirse, also received gratitude from His Excellency Peter Obi for the hospitality shown during his visit. The Presidential candidate assured the people of Mangu that the security and well-being of every Nigerian would be a top priority in the New Nigeria.

His Excellency Peter Obi's visit serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and compassion in the face of tragic circumstances. As the country mourns the lives lost in the recent violence, his gesture of support and solidarity offers hope for a more peaceful and secure future for all Nigerians.
